COVID-19 antigen test, rapid test
Aava Kamppi, Järvenpää, Kerava, Turku, Tampere, Hyvinkää, Tapiola and Aviapolis offer ArcDia’s mariPOC® COVID-19 antigen test for identifying the coronavirus. The test can be taken separately or as part of a package that also includes a PCR test in addition to the rapid test. The test shows whether a person is currently infected with the coronavirus. You need a referral from a doctor for the antigen test or it can be performed as a part of traveller’s COVID-19 testing. In that case, a nurse refers you to the test.
If you suspect that you have contracted the coronavirus, please first book an appointment with your occupational physician ora remote appointment with a doctor.
When is an antigen test performed?
An antigen test is suitable when you have symptoms and the symptoms started less than a week ago. The test is most reliable during the first days of symptoms. It is not as sensitive as a PCR test but its advantage is speed. At best, the result will be ready in 30 minutes.
Aava’s doctors assess the need for testing during a remote appointment. The referring doctor determines which test is most suitable in your situation. You do not have to ask for a specific COVID-19 test yourself.
How to make an appointment for coronavirus testing?
After the doctor has interviewed the patient during a remote appointment and decided that testing is necessary, they will make an electronic referral for testing. Arrange with the doctor how you will be notified of your test results.
You can also book a coronavirus test conveniently online at the most suitable clinic. Online booking requires strong identification, in other words, online banking credentials or mobile ID. If the person to be tested does not have these, the appointment can also be booked by calling our customer service at +358 (0)10 380 3838.
You must stay at home in quarantine-like conditions while waiting for the testing appointment and test results.
If the doctor decides that the criteria for coronavirus testing are not met, the patient will be given instructions for home care.
Negative COVID-19 test certificate:
An antigen test may also be needed as part of a COVID-19 certificate for travel. Here you can find instructions for a COVID-19 certificate provided by a nurse: COVID-19 certificate
