I have practised travel medicine for long. In addition to my medical knowledge and skills, I have lots of experience on travelling. I was an exchange student to the U.S., I travelled con dedo around Latin America, I lived and worked as vaccine researcher in the Philippines, and have been ill with dengue fever. I founded the Finnish language version of International Travellers Health already in 1992. By training I am medical doctor with PhD, and a vaccinologist. I serve as expert / consultant to several international organizations such as ECDC, WHO, and IVI. In my private life I am a grandmother of six children for which reason attending children´s and families travel health issues goes naturally with me.
