I am a specialist in gastrointestinal surgery (abdominal surgery) and currently conduct PhD research focusing on pancreatic cancer. At my practice at Aava, I provide consultations and treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal and other surgical conditions.
My particular areas of interest include abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, gallstone disease, inguinal and umbilical hernias, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal pain, unintentional weight loss, reflux symptoms, and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. I also evaluate and treat various skin and subcutaneous lesions, such as moles, cysts, lipomas, and other soft tissue masses.
In addition to consultations, I perform a variety of office-based procedures, including:
Removal of moles and other skin lesions Excision of subcutaneous masses and cysts Joint injections Rubber band ligation of hemorrhoids Treatment of anal fissures Treatment of perianal fistulas Botulinum toxin (Botox) treatment for anal fissures and other anorectal conditions
I also provide medical certificates and expert medical statements when needed.
You are welcome to book an appointment for a general health assessment even if you do not have a specific medical concern. I also perform medical examinations for driver's license certificates (60-minute appointment).
If you are seeking a surgical procedure, please schedule an initial consultation first so that the need for the procedure and the most appropriate treatment plan can be assessed.
